TCP/IP is the protocol suite consisting of many protocols like TCP(Transmission Control Protocol), IP(Internet Protocol), ICMP(Internet Control Message Protocol), ARP(Address Resolution Protocol) etc. TCP works at Layer4 which is mainly used for end to end data transmission.IP works at layer 3 which is resposible for addressing.ICMP is the protocol behind ping(Packet Internet Gropher) is used to check the connectivity between devices.
